Are Proof Research rifles any good?
Coupled with their carbon-wrapped barrel, this rifle is extremely durable; one of the most reliable rifles on the market today. The Switch rifle comes with a ½ MOA guarantee from Proof Research. I found this to be a generous guarantee, with my rifle averaging ¼ MOA with several different brands of ammunition.

Should I clean a new rifle before shooting?
It needs to be cleaned and lubed prior to shooting. Also, most manufacturers have specific instructions for breaking in the firearm. It takes time for a new gun to “wear in” all the parts so they fit correctly; new guns (and magazines) will be stiff and the gun won’t be at its best until it’s broken in
Do you need to break in a proof research barrel?
Installing your PROOF Research barrel requires special tools and should only be performed by a qualified gunsmith. Barrel break-in is performed in order to smooth out any micro-roughness in the bore that may occur after initial projectiles pass through the barrel.
